The promotion of handball has received a boost with the news that a new website has been launched this week.
The site, Killshotgloves.com, will focus on interviews, previews and handball news.
The online hub is the brainchild of Cavan-based Kill Shot Handball Gloves, a product which hit the market last April and has proven very popular with individuals and clubs in Ireland overseas in Wales, London and the USA.
“The focus will be on providing interesting and engaging handball content as well as, of course, showcasing and selling the Kill Shot products,” stated Paul Fitzpatrick, who will be one of the contributors to the website.
"Hopefully the new website will complement the excellent existing GAAHandball.ie website which is run by the team in Croke Park."
Kill Shot is headed up by Fitzpatrick and multiple All -Ireland and world champion Michael Finnegan.
“We hope to grow Kill Shot into a strong brand. We feel there is a gap in the market there for handball content as well so hopefully this might be a way of combining the two,” said Fitzpatrick.
“Due to the way sport is covered nationally, there is a shortage of handball coverage in the media and there is only so much that the official GAA Handball social media channels, which do a great job, can cover, so hopefully we can alleviate that a little but with this new website.
"We also hope that the website will prove to be a handy way for players and coaches to contact us and purchase merchandise such as gloves and goggles."
Readers are asked to kindly share the new site on social media. Members are encouraged to get in touch with news and photographs from their clubs and counties.
