Kill Shot Inter-Club League final this Saturday

The final of the Kill Shot Softball Inter-Club League will take place this Saturday (September 6th) at Virginia HC, starting at 9.45am.


The finalists are host club Virginia and Kilnaleck, who both topped their respective groups.

Virginia - represented by Paddy O'Reilly (captain), Colum Brady, Michael Smith and Owen O'Reilly - defeated An Cumann Orghialla A and Corduff from Monaghan in the group stages before seeing off Kingscourt in the semi-final.


Kilnaleck - Eddie Halligan (captain), Michael Brady, Jimmy O'Reilly, Michael Naughton, Dwayne Leggett and Peter McCabe - defeated Corduff in the semi-final, Kingscourt and An Cumann Orghialla 2 in the group.


The final serves off at 9.45am sharp, with GAA Handball President Conor McDonnell confirming his attendance to make the presentations.


The Kill Shot Inter-Club League, sponsored by Kill Shot Handball Gloves, saw nine inter-club softball matches played between clubs and some mixed teams in the Cavan-Monaghan region. It is hoped to extend the format to different grades next season. All clubs in the region will be welcome to enter.


All players received a free team shirt and finalists will receive trophies on Saturday.


All spectators welcome for the first league final with a great programme of softball promised.
